Journal #4: Blogging

Blogging is to write entries in, add material to, or maintain a weblog. On the classroom 2.0 the part of I was into was the following why do blogs freak people out? The person wanted to know what other people thought of blogging. Reading what other people had to say and did find that to be an interesting question to ask. What I learning from reading what the others had to say is that they find it a great way to communicate between the teachers and students. The teachers who teach in the University level have it part of there class. The teacher does list her subject with her comment and you can see what she has done in the subjects that she teaches. It just not blogging, they also use Wikis. Even though the teacher who teaches in the University she does not use Wiki, because does not know how it fits in what she is teaching. Most of the people did like blogging in a classroom setting especially at the university levels were the restriction of the Internet are not big, like it is in the lower level grade. The teacher of the lower grades still does use the blogging system, however it only would apply to what they are learning at that time. I learned that no matter what grade or subject the teachers do like to use the blogs in their classrooms. I personally do not like to blog, because I just fill uncomfortable writing in blogs.

All About Me

My name is Valerie Espejo. I was born in Blythe, California. For the people who do not know where that is located. It is in the middle of nowhere, basically right next to Death Valley and minutes from the Arizona border. I lived there for about a year, before we moved to Yucca Valley until I was four years old. After that I moved around from Reno, Carson City, Sacramento, Thousand Palms, Palms Spring and finally Oceanside all before I was nine years old. I have lived in Oceanside for now 24 years in the same house. I went to Oceanside High school and graduated in 1993. Soon after I went to MiraCosta College where I graduated with my accounting degree in 1998. I did go to CSUSM to complete my BS in Accounting, however I had to drop out due to lack of money. So I worked full time as an accountant doing varies jobs. I have my skills in payroll, accounts receivable, billing, and accounts payable. I love doing accounts payable, but it can be very boring after 6 years of doing it. That is why I went back to MiraCosta in 2002 to get my other degree in Liberal Studies and graduated in 2006. Then again went back to CSUSM to get my Liberal studies degree. I am currently a senior and will gradulate in the fall of 2009. I go to school part time and still work full time as an account payable for a technology company in Carlsbad.

My skills on the computer is great in some areas and not in others. You can give me any programs and I can learn it less than a day. To a point that I teach others how to do that program the next day. Currently in my job, if any one needs help they come to me. I know mircosoft very well. I am an expert on Excel, word, powerpoint and Access. I am a PC user and love. I am one of the few people who do not have problem with Windows Vista. I accually never had a problem with the program. I do depend on the technology everyday. I current use Mircosoft 2003. I have tried Mircosoft 2007 and I did not like it that much. However, if I work on it I can learn to like it.

The mission statement for the College of Education point that I like is that they are making better teachers. By the way they committed to the diversity, educational equality, technology, and social justice by teaching the students. The reason why I came to CSUSM is that the College of Education is one of the best in California.
